Home Health: 2027 Raise or Penalty? The Verdict is in TODAY!!

CMS will release the 2025 HHVBP Annual Performance Report (APR) Preview reports for home health agencies TODAY, August 20, 2026.

Key Details of the August 2026 APR Release

What it Determines: This report displays your agency's quality measure scores and the Annual Payment Percentage (APP) adjustments that will apply to your Medicare Fee-for-Service claims for the CY 2027 payment year.

Performance Data Period: The scoring is calculated based on your agency's performance throughout CY 2025.

Recalculation Deadline: Home Health Agencies (HHAs) have exactly 15 calendar days from the exact date of publication to review the data and submit a formal recalculation request if an error is found.

To clarify a common point of confusion regarding the CMS Expanded HHVBP Model timeline, the report coming out today is the Preview APR. The Preliminary APR is released later (typically in September or October) after CMS processes initial recalculation requests.

This report is one of several that we recommend HHAs review this week to understand their quality data. The others can be found in the attached tool, for you to use as a guide.
